The Imagine Cup 2009 competition ended bringing 2 trophies to Romania. This year, we got the first prize in IT Challenge and in the Software Design competitions. It is the first time when Romania manages to get the first prize in Software Design and it represents the result of the hard work and ingenuity of the competitors as well as the people supporting them.
At Software Design, the Sytech team having Adrian Buzgar, Calin Juravle and Andreas Resios as members and Dr. Sabin Buraga as mentor managed to convince the committee that their solution, UpCity, was the best one in the competition. At IT Challenge Cosmin Ilie obtained the first prize, confirming the value of the Romanian IT school. Additional details regarding the subject can be found on a world festival to remember. I am already curious about the next year’s Imagine Cup finals, which will be held in Poland. We’ve got high expectations to meet. Will we have other Romanian teams able to reach them?
